Upgrade Failed :(

Posted in Uncategorized on September 29th, 2007 by Administrator

Yesterday, I attempted to finish off the upgrade by migrating to Wordpress 2.3. It failed. The website immediated starting dishing out pages at 16 seconds per page. I have since migrated back to 2.0.5. Hopefully I will be able to figure out what the issue is soon. This doesn’t affect anyone coming to visit my page but there are a bunch of things in the backend that I wanted to upgrade that I cannot do. Tomorrow is another day. Back to my MIDI Workstation!

Veritas 32 Cabinet Building System or Building a MIDI Keyboard Workstation

Posted in Woodworking on September 27th, 2007 by Administrator

So now I know how to build a cabinet. What else I can build?

Joel is moving out shortly which frees up his room.

For my birthday I got a MIDI keyboard which is currently sitting awkwardly on one of my computer desks. This is not ideal. Well I’m a woodworker. I should be able to fix this fairly easily!

I started out looking on the Internet for ideas. I can say I didn’t find much. Then I started doing several drawings and finalized on a basic design.

In a former life I used to do 3D design (look here for examples). I think I am going to have to relearn this skill if I want to really design furniture in the future. I started using Google’s Sketchup and will have more about this application soon.

Okay…heading to bed now to watch Grey’s Anatomy but I will finish this off tomorrow.

First Site Update Completed!

Posted in Technology on September 27th, 2007 by Administrator

Anyone that has been to the site in the last six months has probably noticed how slow it has been. On average it has taken about 16 seconds to load a page. That’s WAY TOO SLOW! I believe I have fixed this problem. It looks like it taking about 1.6 seconds to load a page now which I believe most peopel can live with. Wordpress has just come out with version 2.3 which will be the next upgrade for the site. Enjoy!
